Vineyard
I am not a grower, yet. Hopefully one day, if the stars align.
I source all my fruit from a vineyard in Yarra Glen called Yarra Station, at the foot of the Christmas Hills, just as you come into the Yarra Valley. I’ve been working with the fruit from this place since 2021, and am rather fond of the vines that take residence here.
It’s farmed thoughtfully, with the use of cover crops, animal manures as fertilisers and gentle under vine cultivation, and is made up largely of clay loam duplex soils.
It’s quite a steep South facing slope, allowing for even ripening and cool airflow, and was first planted back in the mid 90’s.
